One of the best summer destinations in the country. We have been going to Nantucket for years and will tell you our favorite places to eat, shop and beach!

Our Favorite places to eat:
Cru - Go for dinner and get the hot lobster roll. It is slightly pricey but will be the best lobster roll you will have. Plus it's nantucket, be prepared for pricey restaurants in the downtown .
Sea grille - A locals destination open all year, sea grille is outside of town and has amazingly consistent seafood. Also a great place for families.
Ventuno - We love Ventuno for in town Italian food. More upscale and is great because if you are small eaters like us they have half portions!
Island Kitchen - Our favorite breakfast spot! Sometimes there will be a wait but they usually seat you quickly. Also has a great lunch menu. Moderately priced.
Pi Pizza - Out of town and has amazing Italian dishes as well as pizza! Great for smaller groups since it is slightly small inside and their take out is great as well.
Surfside Bakery & Cafe - Fantastic sandwiches and baked goods, outside of the downtown and a great stop to make on your way to Surfside beach.
Juice bar - The lines aere long but the ice cream is great! Definitely get a waffle cone
Surfside beach shack and taco truck - Probably one of the best/healthiest beachside shacks you will ever go to, also great homemade ice cream.
FUN FACT: Try and make reservations 2 weeks in advance for dinner anywhere in town. If it is the week of the Fourth of July, make them a month in advance!
Party Time:
Cisco: For ages 21- 100 a fun brewery to go to, even if you don't like beer like us they have other options.
The Gazebo: Bring a jacket for nighttime it gets chilly even with the fun dancing!
How to get there -
-Coming from Manhattan or Fairfield county we recommend talking a Jet Blue flight out of JFK or Westchester county airports. Jet Blue offers great 45 minute flights to Nantucket from those 2 locations. Occasionally offering $99 for one way!
-Coming from Rhode Island or other parts of CT you can take the Sea Streak Ferry out of New Bedford Mass. This way you will avoid Cape traffic, which can take hours! Also if going for Figawi the waters can be rough end of May. Take 2 dramamine.
-Coming from Boston you can take Jet Blue or Cape Air flights or take the Ferry out of Hyannis. They offer a high speed out of Hyannis or a slower one you can put your car on.
*In order to put your car on the ferry you have to book around 6 months in advance during peak season*
-Everywhere else I recommend connecting flights from JFK or Boston.
Sights to see-
Favorite Beaches-
Surfside: Big, beautiful beach, our families personal favorite. They do have larger waves, very clean/clear water and you will most likely see a seal in the water while visiting this beach! At the Surfside Shack be sure to get a great lunch and breakfast. Jan LOVES the salads.
Steps Beach: One of the most beautiful views on the island from the top of the steps. Our favorite sunset spot for sure. Park in the circle and check out the beautiful houses on the bluffs. Grab a drink after the sunset at Galley Beach Restaurant.
Nobadeer Beach: A fun beach to park your jeep on and have a party. More for a younger crowd. Make sure to take the air out of the tires!
Brant Point lighthouse: Not really a beach but a beautiful place to take pictures and watch the boats coming in.
*PSA: Please wear tick repellant on the island and check yourself, the last thing you need to bring home is lyme disease*
